Crazy Month

My last post was about how excited I was that November was finally here.  Now here I am working on my next post and November is already almost done.  It went by so quickly!  I've been sooo busy, and of course that makes time fly.

We started off November with Dave getting to an accident and totaling his car.  It wasn't a major accident, but his car was so old and such a piece of junk that it was totally ruined.  He called me to let me know it had happened and when we got off the phone, I just thanked God that Dave was the one who called me to let me know about it.  I knew that way it meant he was okay and not seriously hurt.  His airbags never even deployed, so another thing I'm thankful for is that this is the accident that happened.  Had it been a more serious accident, he could have been killed or really badly injured since the airbags were obviously not working.

Anyway, we ended up having to get a new car.  A little sooner than planned, but it has actually been a huge blessing.  We ended up getting a rather large check from our insurance company since we totaled the car and it ended up being just $8 short of the 10% we needed to put down on the new one.  God really provided for us!  It was wonderful.  We love our new car and I'm so happy that Dave finally has a decent car that he basically got to pick out (I helped a little, but it was mostly him).

The other stuff that's been occupying a lot of my time recently is schoolwork.  It's just about the end of the semester, so I've been working on research papers and presentations.  I'm taking three classes right now, so it's a lot of work.  Normally I wouldn't take that many at once, but since I'm not working, I figured I'd take advantage of my free time.  It's so gonna be worth it, though.  I'll be halfway done with my Master's program in less than two weeks!

We had a great Thanksgiving the other day.  It's so wonderful to be able to celebrate with both our families.  I went Black Friday shopping with my cousin, also.  We got up at 3:15 am and went out.  I dropped her off in the early afternoon because she had plans for that afternoon, but I kept going!  I didn't finish shopping till about 4:00!  I was absolutely exhausted, but I finished my Christmas shopping!

Today Dave and I went and got our Christmas tree.  We went with my parents this morning to get theirs, and then we went to get ours.  We figured we'd always get our tree with either my parents or Dave's parents, but we decided to start our own tradition and find our own place to go.  We got a huge tree!  I'll have pictures up soon, I'm sure!

Off to finish writing out Christmas cards!  Hooray for Christmastime!

November!

I am so excited that November is finally here!  Now that Halloween is over, all the Christmas stuff will be out everywhere (even more than it already was), Christmas music will start in the stores and on the radios, Christmas commercials will be on TV, Christmas movies will be on TV (not right away, but soon!), etc.

I don't celebrate Halloween, anyway, so once summer's over, I basically just wait for Halloween to be over.  It's like it's the one thing that stands between me and the holiday season.

November 1st used to be one of my 2 favorite days to work when I was working at CVS in high school.  It was the day we pulled all the Christmas stuff out and set it up in the stores.  It was wonderful.

I love this time of year. =)
