WW - Day 6

Well, I weighed myself at work today and it said I lost 1.4 lbs. since Monday.  As I said, I think the scale at work is off from the on at WW, so I can't tell how much exactly I've lost since I went to WW on Thursday.  I know it's something, though, and I know that it's at least 1.4 lbs.!  I'm excited!

Tonight for dinner I made chicken and apple salads.  It's an idea I got from Cracker Barrel.  I went there with my mom and my grandmother once and it's what my mom got to eat.  It's so good!  It's just lettuce, craisins, grilled chicken strips, and pieces of Gala apple.  I made an apple vinaigrette dressing for it, too, using apple cider, cinnamon, sugar, salt/pepper, oil, and apple cider vinegar.  It was delicious and very filling!

Tomorrow will be 7 days of following WW.  I'm weighing in tomorrow at work before I leave, so I can see my total lost for the week (well, at least since Monday because of the scale difference).  Can't wait to see what it is!

WW - Day 5

Don't worry; the daily WW posts will stop after this week.  =P

Another good day today.  I had weighed in at work yesterday for Biggest Loser, and I was up 1 lb. from when I weighed in at WW on Thursday!  I think the scales are different, because there is no way I gained.  I weighed myself again today and I was down .4 lb. from when I had weighed myself yesterday.  Tonight for dinner we had turkey burgers.  Dave usually cooks on Tuesday, and I knew that's what we were having.  I couldn't wait to have them!  When I was calculating my points for dinner, I realized they're 6 points!  I couldn't believe it....I had been expecting them to be, like, 3.  Thankfully, I had bought WW rolls to have them on, so the total point amount for dinner wasn't too bad; and I still have 2 points left for the day! =)

Time to go watch 19 Kids and Counting!

WW - Day 4 (and a little more updating)

Today was a little tougher, which was kinda surprising.  I went back to work today, and I did well when I was there.  When I got home, however, I struggled a little.  Coming home from work every day is when I'm the worst about being careful about what I eat.  I just snack basically all afternoon and it's really bad.  I used a few flex points today, but I'm still within my points range; so that's good.  Looking forward to weighing in on Thursday to see how much I've lost.

I'm also looking forward to Saturday!  We're having a triple date night with Sarah and James and Rachel and Matt.  Sarah and Rachel and I are making WW recipes and we're all just gonna hang out, play some games, and whatever else.

45 days till the last day of school!  I can't wait.  I've definitely had more than my fill of working with middle schoolers.  I'm ready to be with elementary schoolers again.  It looks like I will be next year, but I can't wait to know for sure!

WW - Day 3

Well, I made it through an entire weekend on Weight Watchers.  Tough stuff!  I did break into my flex points (and by "break into" I mean "used most of"), but now that the weekend is over, that'll be even easier.  It's pretty easy to stay on track when my schedule is running normally.

Tonight, I went out to eat with my mom and my grandmother.  I ordered a wrap and it was huge!  Before I even started eating it, I asked the waitress for a box to pack half of it in.  She gave me one and I put half of the wrap in there to save for lunch for tomorrow.  I NEVER do that!  I was proud of myself for actually sticking to it and doing that.  Half of it was filling enough, anyway.

It's getting easier and easier (even though it's only been three days) to say "no" to eating more than I should.  I'm really happy about it and, when it gets difficult, I just have to remind myself that I'm doing this for my own health, for my future children, and, ultimately, for God.

WW - Day 2

Day 2 = successful!

I did my walking today.  I brought Lillie with me, so she's getting some exercise, too.  It's amazing how many people stare as they drive by when you have a cute little dog with you!  =)

I slept late today, so I actually kinda "missed" breakfast time.  I just ate lunch at 12 and that was that.  I tried to eat very little today because my mom and April and Julia were coming over tonight for scrapbooking and pizza.  I wanted to be able to eat a lot of pizza without going over my points.  I did well...I went over a little, but I'm just using some of my flex points for the week.

Also, yesterday I found 100 Calorie Ice-cream Sandwiches!  They're so good and they actually really satisfy my perpetual craving for chocolate. ;-)

It's pretty amazing how little food it takes to actually fill you up.  You don't really realize it until you're watching your portions of what you're eating and stuff, but it really does take very little!  I'm so excited that this is working out!

WW - Day 1

I need to do a little updating here, but I don't really have time right now (it's too late and I still need to get pics on the computer).  Just wanted to post quickly because yesterday Rachel and her sister-in-law (a new friend of mine) and I went to a Weight Watchers meeting.  Rachel had said she wanted to lose weight before her wedding, and Sarah and I do, too; so we figured we'd all go together and start holding one another accountable.  I'm planning to keep updates here, so that's what I'm doing.

Day 1 was very successful.  Of course, all diets ("lifestyle changes") usually start out that way, but I think having the accountability this time will really help me stick to it.  I've done Weight Watchers in the past, but I was usually alone with it.  I had wanted to lose a lot of weight before my wedding, and I never did it.  I wish I had, but now I'm determined to lose as much of it as I can before the weddings I'm gonna be in this year.  Anyway....back to Day 1....I started out doing really well.  Yesterday, Rachel and Sarah and I had stopped at the store on our way home and bought some "junk food" stuff to enjoy for our last night before starting WW officially.  I bought myself a big bag of M&M's.  I didn't finish it, and so instead of keeping it at home with me today, I sent it to work with Dave for him to share with people he works with.  I had some cereal and milk for breakfast.  For lunch, I was out doing errands so I stopped at Subway.  I got a mini sub (the kid-size ones....they're 4", I think)....it was just turkey and veggies.  No mayo or anything else.  I also got a pack of apples and a Diet Dr. Pepper.  A total of 4 points for lunch....not bad.  I was actually satisfied with that, too, and it held me over for a while.  I was trying to be careful because I knew tonight would be tough.  We had our Secret Sister Reveal Night for church and we were going to a restaurant for dinner and then someone's house for dessert.  Dinner was really tough; it was unlimited pasta, rolls, fries, salad, and chicken.  I didn't even touch the rolls (that's pretty amazing for me because I looooove carbs) and I only had one serving of each thing.  I really really exercised a lot of self control with the pasta.  Pasta is my favorite and when it's unlimited, I usually go pretty crazy with it.  I was rather proud of myself for sticking with only one serving.  After that, we went back to someone's house to give our gifts and reveal who we had.  There were a lot of yummy chocolatey treats.  As much as I wanted to take one of everything, I limited myself to two brownie bites.  That was it.  I left feeling very happy that I actually stuck to it and stayed within my points even with going out to eat!  I also went for a short walk today.  At WW right now, they're doing a "Walk-it Challenge".  It's a 6-week challenge to get you in shape to walk a 5K.  It starts out really small (10 minute walk a day) and works up to 45 minutes.  Rachel and Sarah and I commited ourselves to doing it, so we're also holding each other accountable for that.

It's really tough to do this stuff, but I'm very optimistic about it.  With prayer and with having accountability from friends, I'll definitely be able to do it!

My Birthday

The weather this week wasn't as great as I was hoping it would be; we got lots and lots of rain (about 3 days of non-stop rain).  The weather did stop in time for my birthday, but it was still kinda gray and cloudy out.  I had a great day, though!  I woke up in the morning and Dave gave me my first "wife" birthday card. =)  He said that he found a funny one he liked and a serious one he liked; he gave me the funny one in the morning and would give me the serious one that night with my presents.

At work, we do a name draw for birthdays.  The Art teacher had my name and she got me a plant, a Subway gift card, Jolly Ranchers (I ALWAYS keep Jolly Ranchers in my classroom for reward things and for teachers) and Lindt chocolates. My friend Jess was coming to visit me during my free period to interview me for a project she has for a class.  It was nice to see her, and she brought me a present, too!  She got me a pink candle, pink Peeps, and pink gum (lol...see a theme?).  Also, Dave's parents had some pink flowers delivered to me while I was at work.  I love getting flowers delivered at work for some reason, so that made me really happy.

My parents had invited us over for dinner and cake that night.  Dave's starting to play guitar with the worship team at church, so he had to be at practice that night.  My mom came and picked me up after I was done tutoring and she brought me back to their house where Dave would meet us after practice.  She made one of my favorites (American Chop Suey and Italian bread) for dinner.  As always, it was delicious.  We had fun, just hanging out and watching TV till Dave got there.  Then when Dave got there, he ate and then we had cake (peanut butter and chocolate....also my fave).  Then my parents gave me my birthday gift...a Cricut
My mom had asked me a while ago if I wanted one, but I had completely forgotten about it, so I was completely surprised!  I can't wait to start using it!

That night when we got home, Dave was feeling really sick, so we skipped presents and went to bed.  The next morning (which, by the way, had beautiful weather), he gave me my other card and my presents.  He got me a Journey's Greatest Hits CD (I love Journey and I had none of their CDs), along with a gift card to New York & Company (one of my fave stores) and Godiva chocolate strawberries (yum!).

At work that day, some parents from my classroom (I seriously have such great student parents) brought in pizza and a chocolate peanut butter cup cake and soda for my class.  Thankfully, it was a half day, so I didn't have to do any teaching after the kids got all wound up from the party and sugar!  They got me some gifts, too.  It was sweet. =)

That night, Dave and I went out to Red Robin (one of my favorite restaurants) and Coldstone Creamery (fave place for ice-cream).  I had coupons since it was my birthday, so for both of us to eat dinner, leave a tip, and get ice-cream, it was less than $21.

going out for dinner (note the sunglasses: as I said, it was beautiful out that day!)

That's about it!  Just enjoying my time home today, getting some stuff done.  Of course, the windows are open.  It's sooo nice here.  I love it and I'm so looking forward to Easter Sunday!  Have a blessed Easter, everyone! =)
