Every year, I look forward to this week. Everyone always says that as you get older, your birthday means less and less. I can't imagine myself ever feeling that way. I seriously love my birthday. Hahaha.
I think part of the reason I love it, though, is that it's the time when spring is really starting to show and I love spring. It's so wonderful to have such great weather after a cold winter. Plus, spring is when Dave and I first started dating and it always reminds me of when I would go visit him at work and all the first few times we hung out and stuff. It just makes me so happy! I'm SO looking forward to the 70-degree weather we're supposed to have by the end of this week!
Speaking of things that make me happy, now that we've been living on our own, I'm always looking out for some good deals for groceries and anything else we get. I love coupons, and I'm fans of various pages on facebook where I can get good ones. The other day, I went shopping at Lane Bryant and I got about $170 worth of clothing for less than six dollars! They were having a huge clearance, and I had a great coupon! Lane Bryant is typically really expensive, so it was awesome to be able to do that (it's also a place I'm hoping to not be able to shop at soon because of weight loss, though).
A few other things that have made me happy lately:
-I've lost almost 10 lbs. (Dave's lost about that much, too)
-We've been really really good about putting money into our savings account (and we're getting a big tax refund)
-Becky and I have started talking and being friends again (after clearing everything up and also realizing someone was trying to ruin our friendship)
-I realized that if I take two classes a semester, I'll be done with my Masters Degree by the end of next year (which means we can start trying to have a baby [even if it weren't for my Master's Degree, we'd be waiting till at least summer of next year] and get a house)
-I've been experimenting with new recipes and have really been enjoying cooking and baking
-My boss told me that I'll most likely be moving downstairs to teach next year (which means somewhere K - 5) instead of middle school (although I do love middle school; I just feel more "at home" with the younger kids. It's where I'm strongest and I feel much more comfortable there.)
-I ordered my dress for Ben and Julia's wedding. The other bridesmaids and I got to pick what dresses we wanted. I'm excited to see how they look!
-For the other wedding I'm in (Rachel's), I get to pick out my dress for that, too! I went with Rachel to buy her wedding gown last week and we're going back over April vacation to get mine. I'm so excited to be her Maid of Honor and to be able to help with planning and stuff.
That's all for now. Life is good!
